New annual average salary announced: May 2025
It is announced by Lithuanian Statistics that the average gross monthly salary in the national economy of Lithuania has increased to 2,223 EUR (~1,312 EUR net) in 2024 (up from the previous figure of 2013.8 EUR in 2023).
In our legal practice this figure is important in terms of the following two aspects:
╰┈➤ It is possible to deviate from imperative Lithuanian Labour Code provisions with employees who are remunerated with a gross monthly salary of at least 4,446 EUR (2 average salaries)
╰┈➤ Meeting the salary requirement of at least 3,334.50 EUR is necessary for employing highly skilled employees from non-EU countries (1,5 average salaries; unless profession is included into specific list of high value-added professions).
In any case, hopefully, this rise signifies a positive trajectory for all of us painting a picture of enhanced well-being and promising prospects for the future.
