Secondment (posting) or employment of a non-Lithuanian national in Lithuania requires for specific notification(s) to be submitted to the Lithuanian authorities.

PWD & other statutory notifications on work of a foreigner

Notification on posting (PWD notification)  is required when an employee is assigned to Lithuania for more than 30 calendar days (or to perform construction works - then PWD notification is required irrespectively of duration of the posting). PWD notification should be submitted to the State Labour Inspectorate of Lithuania on behalf of the home company (employer, non-Lithuanian registered entity) at least 1 business day before the start day. Submission of PWD notification is possible online only.

LDU notification (notification about a foreigner working in Lithuania) is required when non-Lithuanian national (regardless of which country he/she is a national of) is employed in Lithuania or assigned (posted) to Lithuania. LDU notification is submitted on behalf of the Lithuanian entity via its EDAS account on the e-platform of Social Security Fund Board of Lithuania.
